- 1717- May 13, birth of Maria Theresa
- 1723 - Engaged to Leopold Clement of Lorraine. Leopold died of smallpox, which upset her.
- FEBRUARY 12, 1736 –Maria Theresa married Francis I, Leopold's older brother
- 1737 –Gave birth to her first child, Maria Elisabeth. The child died years later.
- JULY 9, 1737 – Francis III became the Grand Duchess of Tuscany, and Maria Theresa became the Duchess.
- DECEMBER 1744 - proposed expelling the Jews from her hereditary dominions to her ministers
- 1755 – Gave birth to her last daughter and 15th child, Marie Antoinette.
- AUGUST 18, 1765 –Maria’s husband died.(Francis I)
- 1771 – Maria and Joseph issued the Robot Patent, a reform that regulated a serf's labor payments in her lands, which provided some relief.
- 1777 - abandoned the idea of expelling Moravian Protestants after Joseph threatened to abdicate as emperor and co-ruler.
- NOVEMBER 24, 1780 – Maria Fell ill with smallpox.
- NOVEMBER 28, 1780 – Maria passed away.
